Files in this Data Supplement:

  • Supplemental Figure - There is no difference between N- and P/Q-channel-mediated GABA release. (A) Comparison of agatoxin and conotoxin-treated slices during 2Hz stimulation. (B) There is no significant difference in the percentage of non-destaining boutons between agatoxin and conotoxin-treated slices during 2Hz stimulation. (C) There is no significant difference in the distribution of individual time constants during 2Hz stimulation between agatoxin and conotoxin-treated slices. (D-F) As for A-C except for 10Hz stimulation. Stimulation period indicated by black bar in A and D.
  • Supplemental Movie - Time series of confocal images (2 micron optical thickness) taken every 15 sec for 5 min showing synaptogreen-labeled GABAergic boutons in CA1stratum pyramidale of a rat hippocampal slice culture. The large dark regions are the CA1 pyramidal cell bodies. A 5-Hz extracellular stimulus train was started after 1 min of baseline image acquisition and was stopped before the last 1 min of imaging. The activity-dependent loss of flourescence from many labeled boutons reflects exocytosis of synaptogreen-containing presynaptic vesicles.
