For the article "Hypothermia-Associated Loss of Dendritic Spines," by Martijn Roelandse and Andrew Matus, which appeared on pages 7843-7847 of the September 8, 2004 issue, the authors would like to direct readers to the following reference, which reports similar phenomena: Kirov SA, Petrak LJ, Fiala JC, Harris KM (2004) Dendritic spines disappear with chilling but proliferate excessively upon rewarming of mature hippocampus.
