Files in this Data Supplement:

  • Supplementary Fig. - Supplementary Figure 1. Dye saturation. A, The peak [lsqb]Ca2+[rsqb] transient amplitude A2APs evoked by the sequence AP--AP plotted against the corresponding time interval ?t. A2APs deceased exponentially (solid black line) with an apparent decay time constant of 440 msec, in agreement with the decay time constant of a single bAP-evoked [lsqb]Ca2+[rsqb] transient of 490 ± 190 msec. B, The nonlinearity factor is defined as A2APs normalized to the linear sum of two [lsqb]Ca2+[rsqb] transients evoked by a control bAP. The nonlinearity factor was close to one for all time intervals (p [mt] 0.1; n = 6) indicating linear summation of the [lsqb]Ca2+[rsqb] transients evoked by the AP--AP sequences. The solid black line is a linear fit to the data with a slope of [minus]0.0001 and a y-axis intercept of 1.0.
