Spontaneous Release of Neuropeptide Y Tonically Inhibits Recurrent Mossy Fiber Synaptic Transmission in Epileptic Brain
J. Neurosci. Tu et al. 25: 1718

Supplemental data

Files in this Data Supplement:

  • supplemental material - Supplemental Figure. Placement of stimulating and recording electrodes. Mossy fibers were stimulated in stratum lucidum of area CA3b >100 |*mu*|m from the opening of the dentate hilus. Perforant path fibers (medial + lateral) were stimulated where this pathway crosses the subiculum. Associational-commissural fibers were stimulated in the inner third of the dentate molecular layer >200 |*mu*|m from the recorded cell. Minimal electrical stimuli were applied in the granule cell body layer |*tilde*|200 |*mu*|m from the recorded cell. Although the recorded granule cell is shown at the apex of the granule cell body layer, the granule cells studied were located in all parts of the cell body layer. Electrode locations for field recordings were the same as those for whole cell voltage clamp recordings. The dashed line indicates where a knife cut was placed before field recordings were made. DG, dentate gyrus.
