Ambient GABA Constrains the Strength of GABAergic Synapses at Cajal-Retzius Cells in the Developing Visual Cortex
J. Neurosci. Kirmse and Kirischuk 26: 4216

Supplemental data

Files in this Data Supplement:

  • supplemental material - Supplemental figure- Schematic illustration of possible mechanisms that control GABAergic synaptic transmission. A parasynaptic cell, for instance a glial cell, releases GABA via GAT-2/3 and GAT-1 operating in the reversed mode. Presynaptically located GAT-1 functions in the uptake mode and provides additional GABA for vesicle filling. Extracellular GABA activates presynaptic GABABRs thereby regulating synaptic GABA release.
