Na+/Cl Dipole Couples Agonist Binding to Kainate Receptor Activation
J. Neurosci. Wong et al. 27: 6800

Supplemental Data

Files in this Data Supplement:

  • supplemental material - Supplemental Figure 1: Mutation of Met770 and not Asp528 disrupts cation modulation of GluR6 KARs. (a) Membrane currents evoked by 10 mM Glu (Vm = -20 mV) in the presence of 150 mM NaCl (black traces) or LiCl (grey traces) from wild-type (left), D528K (middle) or M770K receptors (right). Insets show normalized peak responses on expanded time scale. (b) Pooled data from experiments shown in panel a examining ion modulation of peak responses. Note that cation substitutions modulate the peak response of both wild-type and D528K receptors but not M770K receptors. (c) Summary plot showing decay kinetics obtained from experiments in panel a. In both wild-type and D528K receptors, the decay rates are affected by cation substitutions while M770K receptors are unaltered. Data from both b and c are expressed as mean ± SEM, n ? 4 patches for each condition.
