Anterograde Transport and Secretion of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor along Sensory Axons Promote Schwann Cell Myelination
J. Neurosci. Ng et al. 27: 7597

Supplemental Data

Files in this Data Supplement:

  • supplemental material - Supplemental Figure 1. Adenoviral mediated myc-BDNF overexpression in neonatal rat DRG neurons. A, Ipsilateral, neonatal rat DRGs at L4 and L5 were injected with the myc-BDNF/GFP adenovirus. Seven days after injection, rat tissues were fixed by perfusion and the DRGs and sciatic nerves were removed. B, DRGs were sectioned and immunostained with anti-myc (b) and anti-neurofilament (c) antibodies. GFP fluorescence was also assayed (a). Uninfected DRG neuronal cell bodies (arrow) were positive for neurofilament immunoreactivity but negative for myc-BDNF and GFP fluorescence. Scale bar = 50 µm for all panels. C, Sciatic nerves were similarly assayed for GFP fluorescence (a) and anti-myc immunoreactivity (b). The merged fluorescence image is shown in (c). Scale bar = 50 µm for all panels.
