Supplementary Movie: Three-dimensional reconstruction of a MFB and its postsynaptic target dendrite taken from an adult rat
The movie starts with the postsynaptic target dendrite given in blue. Next, the two membrane specializations, AZs (red) and PAs (magenta) appear. Then, the total pool of synaptic vesicles (green dots) is shown, followed by the distribution of mitochondria (white). The sequence ends with the mossy fiber bouton in transparent yellow. Note the more clustered (adult) versus a non-clustered organization of the total pool of synaptic vesicles between MFBs in P28 and adult rats (compare with movie 1). Scale bar is 1µm.
