A New Thalamic Pathway of Vibrissal Information Modulated by the Motor Cortex
J. Neurosci. Urbain and Deschênes 27: 12407

Supplemental Data

Files in this Data Supplement:

  • supplemental material - Figure S1. Receptive field size of cells sampled along electrode tracts through VPM in four experiments. Cells in A - B were recorded in normal rats, whereas those in C - D were recorded in SpVi-lesioned animals. Blue dots represent unresponsive cells to whisker deflection, whereas red and black dots represent multi- and mono-whisker responsive cells, respectively. Cells in VPMvl were not sampled in these experiments.
  • supplemental material - Figure S2. Location of 8 cells that were labeled juxtacellularly with Neurobiotin in the head of the barreloids. These cells responded to multiple whiskers (as indicated), and were also driven by motor cortex stimulation. Cell reconstruction was made with a camera lucida at 40X, and drawings were superimposed on an outline of the VPM/Po border as estimated in CO-stained sections. Note that dendritic trees extend across the VPM/Po border.
