About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover picture: A composite of photomicrographs shows hematoxylin and eosin-stained frontal sections through six different levels of the anteroposterior axis of the 40 d postnatal rat nose, with its olfactory epithelium on septum and turbinates. Regions 1-3 are represented top to bottom on the left, and regions 4-6 are represented on the right. With age the area of the olfactory epithelium increases, whereas the proliferation density decreases. For details, see the article by Weiler and Farbman in this issue (pp. 3610-3622).
