About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover picture: Triple-labeled immunofluorescence confocal microscope image showing the distribution of the FGF-2 flg receptor FGFR1 (labeled with the fluorophore FITC and represented in green) in rat medial septum. Cholinergic medial septal neurons are revealed by antibodies to choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) labeled with the fluorophore Cy5 and represented in blue. The nucleic acid counterstain propidium iodide (represented in red) reveals the location of neuronal and glial cell bodies and endothelial cells lining vascular structures. FGFR1 staining is found on all neuronal cell bodies and processes within the field shown, only a subset of which are cholinergic neurons. For details, see the article by Fagan et al. in this issue (pp. 2499-2511).
