Cover picture: Two boutons (top and bottom) in monkey cortical area V5. The boutons were labeled by anterograde transport of biotinylated dextran amine from cortical area V1. The boutons were reconstructed from serial electron micrographs and rendered with a transparent skin to show the complex postsynaptic density (yellow) and numerous individual mitochondria (colored separately, e.g., pink, blue, etc.) Rotations of the two boutons are shown on the right.
