Cover picture: Pseudocolor representation of a triple-immunolabeled hippocampal neuron (grown 16 d in culture) shows that NMDA receptors (green) are clustered at separate sites from AMPA-type glutamate receptors (red). Spiny AMPA receptor clusters are apposed to a subset of presynaptic terminals shown by staining for synaptophysin (blue), whereas NMDA receptor clusters on the dendrite shaft are not at synapses at this stage of development.
