About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover picture: Pseudocolor representation of a triple-immunolabeled hippocampal neuron (grown 16 d in culture) shows that NMDA receptors (green) are clustered at separate sites from AMPA-type glutamate receptors (red). Spiny AMPA receptor clusters are apposed to a subset of presynaptic terminals shown by staining for synaptophysin (blue), whereas NMDA receptor clusters on the dendrite shaft are not at synapses at this stage of development. For details, see the article by Rao et al., in this issue (pages 1217-1229).
