Cover picture: The antimigraine drug sumatriptan causes a prolonged increase in intracellular calcium in trigeminal neurons. Intracellular calcium concentrations in cultured neurons were measured using the calcium dye fura-2. Top panel, Representative neuron before treatment with sumatriptan. Middle and bottom panels, Same neuron after addition of 10 µM sumatriptan after 6 and 12 min, respectively. Intracellular calcium increased from ~100 to 600 nM, with a coordinate decrease in calcitonin gene-related peptide. For details, see the article by Durham and Russo, in this issue (pages 3423\N3429).
