About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover picture: Laminins are expressed in multiple compartments in the mature retina. Confocal image of immunoreactivity for the laminin alpha 4 (red), beta 2 (green), and gamma 3 (blue) chains suggests the presence of laminin 14 (alpha 4beta 2gamma 3) in the interphotoreceptor matrix and inner plexiform layer; overlap of the three signals is purple to white. The laminin beta 2 chain is also present in retinal vasculature. The red signal in the distal interphotoreceptor matrix is autofluorescence from photoreceptor outer segments. For details, see the article by Libby et al. in this issue (pages 6517-6528).
