Cover: Overexpression of wt-Akt in primary cultures of oligodendrocytes by adenoviral gene transfer. Primary cultures of oligodendrocyte progenitors were infected with adenovirus encoding HA-tagged wild-type Akt. Adenovirus infection was performed in cells 24 hours after incubation in PDGF/T3. Cells were infected for 48 hours with 50 multiplicities of infection of an adenovirus expressing the HA-tagged wt-Akt, during which they began differentiation to immature oligodendrocytes. Cells were stained for 04 (oligodendrocyte-specific marker, red) and HA (green) 48 hours after infection. Over 90% infection rate was observed. For details, see the article by Flores et al. in this issue (pages 7622-7630).
