Cover picture: Confocal pseudocolored images of cultured spinal cord astrocytes obtained from Cx43 knock-out mice illustrating the propagation of intercellular calcium wave. Cells were loaded with the calcium indicator Indo-1 AM and imaged using a Nikon real time confocal microscope (RCM-8000). The pseudocolors represent a range of ratiometrically determined changes in calcium levels from resting (green-yellow) to high levels (bright red).
