About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover picture: Neonatal rat Schwann cells were cultured in the presence of 1 µM lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) for 3 hr and then triple stained with TRITC-phalloidin to label f-actin (red), an antibody to the focal adhesion protein paxillin (green), and 4',6'-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) to label nuclei (blue). LPA treatment induces the formation of a peripheral actin "wreath" structure, accompanied by focal adhesion assembly and increased adhesion to the laminin substrate. For details, see the article by Weiner et al. in this issue (pages 7069-7078).
