Cover Picture: The chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan versican is expressed at an early stage in oligodendrocyte differentiation. Oligodendrocyte precursor cells were grown for 24 hr in medium supportive of oligodendrocyte differentiation, and double labeled for versican (red) and with A2B5 (green), a marker of undifferentiated oligodendrocyte precursor cells. Versican is associated with multipolar, weakly A2B5⁺ pro-oligodendroblasts but not with A2B5⁺, bipolar precursor cells. For details, see the article by Asher et al. in this issue (pages 2225-2236).
