Cover legend: A schematic view of the brain during oculomotor tracking. The visual scene (an apple, moving towards the periphery) is projected on to a screen, where agents describe its qualities and motion to the relay center in the middle of the control tower. At the top of the control tower, the "executive" relays orders to the spotlight operator, who highlights the part of the visual scene to aid the agents in describing its properties. Simultaneously, the command to move the eyes is relayed via the low-level controller at the bottom of the image to the agents who move the eyes, bringing the most sensitive part of the eye to the moving target. For more information, see the article by Schoppik and Lisberger in this issue (pages 7607–7618).
