About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover legend: Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) receptor 1 is highly expressed in calbindin-negative dopaminergic neurons in adult ventral midbrain. The image shows the immunostaining of tyrosine hydroxylase (red), FGF receptor 1 (green), and calbindin (blue), supporting the result that FGF-20 is preferentially acting on calbindin-negative dopaminergic neurons, which are known to be at most risk in Parkinson's disease. The image has been processed to provide a watercolor effect. For more information, see the article by Murase and McKay in the September 20, 2006 issue (Vol 26, Issue 38, pages 9750–9760).
