About the Cover
Cover legend: Adult zebra finches. Birds of this species live in colonies and frequently interact. Like many species, zebra finches generate new neurons throughout their lives. Increased social complexity promotes survival of newly born neurons that have not yet been functionally incorporated into neural circuits, whereas reduced social complexity promotes the survival of slightly older neurons that have already formed connections.
