This analysis tested the hypothesis that the presumed clones did result from single infection events following the Poisson distribution (see Table 1 for statistical procedure). These data are inconsistent with the hypothesis for 2 df using the χ2 test for goodness of fit (χ2 = 21.6, 0.001 > p); therefore we must reject the hypothesis.
