  • A multiprobe ribonuclease assay was performed using total mRNA from lumbar spinal cord of different groups of rats isolated on day 11 after L5 nerve transection (L5Tx) or sham surgery to detect the expression of regulatory molecules. The value for the normalized quantity for each band was obtained by dividing with theL32 housekeeping gene control. Individual mRNA concentration in terms of fold activation was calculated as the ratio of their expression compared with sham saline-treated animals, in which normal values are weighed as 1. Values are mean ± SEM (n = 4).
