Neural tracer injections performed on wild-type mice at 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 10, and 14 weeks of age. The diameter of the projection (PRO) sites and the injection (INJ) sites were measured for each animal within each developmental age group. Average INJ and PRO site sizes are shown ± SD. The PRO to INJ ratio was calculated for each animal and then averaged for each age group, shown as ± SD. Number of animals in each age group is indicated by n value.
