Human neural stem cells in developmental neurotoxicology: Current scenario and future prospects
2023, Advances in NeurotoxicologyMicroglia-Secreted Factors Enhance Dopaminergic Differentiation of Tissue- and iPSC-Derived Human Neural Stem Cells
2021, Stem Cell ReportsCitation Excerpt :See Supplemental Information for detailed methods. Cell isolation, genetic modification, and general characterization of the somatic human NSC lines hVM1-Bcl-XL (ventral mesencephalic NSC line) and hNS1 (forebrain NSC line) are described elsewhere (Courtois et al., 2010; Krabbe et al., 2009, 2014; Villa et al., 2000, 2004, 2009). Propagation and dopaminergic differentiation were performed as previously described (Krabbe et al., 2009, 2014).

2020, Principles of Tissue EngineeringEffects of chlorpyrifos on cell death and cellular phenotypic specification of human neural stem cells
2019, Science of the Total EnvironmentCitation Excerpt :To achieve this, we used hNS1 cells, a clonal and multipotent stem cell line derived from the telencephalic region of the developing human brain (Villa et al., 2000). We have previously demonstrated the multipotency of hNS1 and its ability to differentiate into different cell types, such as neurons or glia (Villa et al., 2000; Coronel et al., 2018). This potential can be maintained over time, making this cell line a suitable model to study the effects that CPF may have in early stages of neural development.
