Stress Responsiveness of BDNF/TrkB Signaling in the Neuroendocrine System and Future Implications
2020, Stress: Genetics, Epigenetics and Genomics Volume 4: Handbook of StressLamotrigine attenuates deficits in synaptic plasticity and accumulation of amyloid plaques in APP/PS1 transgenic mice
2014, Neurobiology of AgingCitation Excerpt :Expression of various genes has been reported to be regulated by LTG (D'Souza et al., 2013; Wang et al., 2002). However, it should be noticed that a depolarization event in the postsynaptic neuron will induce the release of NGF (Blochl and Thoenen, 1996; Williams et al., 2005). LTG could inhibit calcium-sensing nonselective cation channel–mediated membrane depolarization (Xiong et al., 2001).
BDNF mediated activity dependent maturation of visual Wulst following prenatal repetitive auditory stimulation at a critical developmental period in domestic chicks (Gallus domesticus)
2014, Brain Research BulletinCitation Excerpt :Overexpression of BDNF is sufficient for the termination of the critical period for ocular dominance plasticity in the visual cortex, in the absence of visual experience (Gianfranceschi et al., 2003). Further, it has been observed that any neuronal activity can directly regulate the production and release of BDNF in the associated brain regions (Thoenen, 1995; Blochl and Thoenen, 1996). Moreover, there also exists a positive correlation between BDNF expression, development of GABAergic inhibition (Rutherford et al., 1997, 1998) and attainment of glutamatergic excitation.
