2016, Neuroscience and Biobehavioral ReviewsCitation Excerpt :The hippocampus is one of the primary regions involved in both task acquisition and consolidation (Florian and Roullet, 2004; Morris et al., 1982; Redish and Touretzky, 1998; Sutherland et al., 1982, 1983). The cerebellum and medial septum also contribute to the acquisition of this task (Gandhi et al., 2000; Rashidy-Pour et al., 1996). Consolidation of this task relies on the perforant pathway, medial frontal cortex, and the caudate putamen, as well (Remondes and Schuman, 2004; Setlow and McGaugh, 1999; Sutherland et al., 1982).
