2022, Journal of Pharmacological SciencesCitation Excerpt :Different FABP family members exhibit unique patterns of tissue expression and are expressed most abundantly in tissues involved in active lipid metabolism. In this context, three FABP families, FABP3, FABP5, and FABP7, are expressed in the brain.55–57 FABP3 is mainly expressed in neurons, however it is not expressed in glial cells in the central nervous system and is barely detectable in the brain during embryonic development.
