Indeed, antagonists and partial agonists of the glycine site inhibit the function of the NMDAR complex and produce effects similar to those produced by competitive and non-competitive NMDAR antagonist [22,34,35]. In this context, in vivo studies have indicated that DCS produces agonistic and antagonistic effects predominating at low and high doses, respectively [4,34].
