LncRNA Gm4419 contributes to OGD/R injury of cerebral microglial cells via IκB phosphorylation and NF-κB activation
2017, Biochemical and Biophysical Research CommunicationsSphk1 mediates neuroinflammation and neuronal injury via TRAF2/NF-κB pathways in activated microglia in cerebral ischemia reperfusion
2017, Journal of NeuroimmunologyCitation Excerpt :These results demonstrated the essential role of TRAF2 in the microglia-mediated release of the downstream cytokines NFκB and IL17 and in neuronal damage in the in vitro OGDR model. NFκB is activated in microglia during cerebral ischemia, and suppression of NFκB activity in the microglia can suppress iNOS, COX-2, and pro-inflammatory cytokines (Jongeneel, 1995). We further investigated the critical role of bioactive NFκB in microglia under OGDR.
Protein kinase Cδ upregulation in microglia drives neuroinflammatory responses and dopaminergic neurodegeneration in experimental models of Parkinson's disease
2016, Neurobiology of DiseaseCitation Excerpt :These results also raise the possibility that the signaling pathways downstream of PKCδ, such as NFκB, might at least in part orchestrate the gene and protein expression cascades during microglial activation. NFκB signaling plays a major role in modulating proinflammatory mediators in a variety of innate immune cells including microglia (Ghosh et al., 2007b; Jongeneel, 1995). Activation of NFκB may occur through multiple mechanisms.
