The Journal of Neuroscience Reduced Fees Policy
In an effort to aid neuroscientists working in resource-restricted countries and to broaden the dissemination of science to all areas of the world, The Journal of Neuroscience offers reduced submission and publication fees to scientists located in the countries identified by the World Bank as those with an economic standing of low income (Category I) or lower-middle income (Category II).
Fee will be reduced when the first and last authors are members of the Society for Neuroscience and have work addresses in Category I or Category II countries. If the first and last authors work in countries in different categories, the country with the less reduced fee applies.
The submission fee will be waived for manuscripts originating from Category I countries, but will apply in full for Category II countries.
All publication fees will be reduced to 25% of the usual amount for Category I countries, and will be reduced to 50% of the usual amount for Category II countries.
The Journal will consider requests to waive the fee for well-documented cases of extreme financial hardship.
