Cover picture: The Afircan weakly electric fish Gymnarchus niloticus possesses electrosensory mechanisms that are exquisitely sensitive to small time disparity between sensory signals from different parts of the body surfaces. Pyramidal cells in the hindbrain have been found to be sensitivie to time disparities on the order of 10-6 s. See the article by Matsushita and Kawasaki for details (pages 11424–11432).
