- supplemental material - Supplementary Figure 1: PN-1 protein solely overexpressed in the nerve does not affect the kinetics of synapse re-innervation. A: Immunoblot showing PN-1 protein expression in WT and Tg sciatic nerve and muscle: 1: WT nerve, 2: Tg nerve, 3: WT muscle, 4: Tg muscle. Rat PN-1 overexpression is nerve specific and cannot be detected in the muscle. B: synapse re-innervation after sciatic nerve crush in WT and Tg mice. C: Recovery of response to pinch in hindfoot digits after sciatic nerve crush. WT and Tg mice received a pinch to the distal portion of each hindfoot digit by forceps. Vocalization and foot withdrawal were noted as positive responses. Time (in days) to elicit an initial response was recorded for each digit.
- supplemental material - Supplemental Figure 2: Model proposed for the three major contributing factors accounting for poor functional recovery after sciatic nerve crush: increased Schwann cell apoptosis, decreased Schwann cell proliferation and migration.
