Dear readers,

I am honored to have been chosen as the new editor-in-chief of The Journal of Neuroscience and am thrilled to share my vision for the future of our illustrious journal.

For over 30 years, The Journal of Neuroscience has been a beacon of neuroscience research. It has long been one of the most influential journals in the field and remains by far the most cited. In addition, The Journal of Neuroscience maintains the highest level of ethical integrity, ensuring consistency and scientific rigor in each of its research articles. My desire is for The Journal of Neuroscience to continue to excel and insightfully build for the future to provide the greatest venue for sharing outstanding science.

It is no secret that the landscape of scholarly publishing is quickly changing. Across disciplines, new demands and expectations from both authors and readers have encouraged shifting perspectives among editors and publishers. My primary goal as editor-in-chief is to ensure that The Journal of Neuroscience remains flexible in attending to the rapidly shifting scientific communication landscape, while also maintaining and intensifying the high standards of academic excellence for which the journal is known. By steadily introducing initiatives to the editorial and review processes, I believe The Journal of Neuroscience will further develop as a flagship for communicating neuroscience research, all while successfully meeting the evolving needs of its audience.

As always, my top priority, and that of our renowned editorial board, is ensuring that The Journal of Neuroscience continues each week to publish novel research that advance our field. I am dedicated to leading the board's mission in providing authors with a productive, fair, and timely review experience.

I sincerely hope that all neuroscientists will eagerly access The Journal of Neuroscience, as both submitters and readers, for the insightful and stimulating science that will shape our future and lead the way to extraordinary discoveries.
