Cover legend: A confocal image of a polyaxonal amacrine cell of the rabbit retina, showing the dendritic arbor in green and multiple axonal branches in gray. The elongation of the dendritic arbor and quasi-linear integration of synaptic inputs allows this cell type to respond selectively to visual signals oriented parallel to the horizon.
