About the Cover

This image shows neuromuscular junctions in tibialis anterior (TA) muscle of a 60 day old C57/BL6 mouse. The nerve terminal was stained with neurofilament and synapsin antibodies (green), and acetylcholine receptor clusters were visualized with CF568 α-bungarotoxin (red). Acetylcholine receptor clusters went through fragmentation and denervation during aging. New work investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying this decline.
