Tip60 localizes to actively transcribed gene regions on polytene chromosomes: Polytene chromosomes from Drosophila salivary glands are squashed and co-stained with DAPI (blue), RNA polymerase-II (green), and Tip60 (red). Tip60 colocalizes with RNA polymerase II in the interbands region (merged yellow) representing sites of active gene transcription between densely packed DNA regions.
