About the Cover

Pictured are several developing neurons from a rat hippocampus with one, in green, lacking a protein called EHBP1 (green, GFP-reported EHBP1 RNAi plasmid; red, anti-EHBP1; blue, DAPI). The neuron morphology highlighted by the cell-filling green fluorescence shows a reduced dendritic arbor complexity manifesting in a severe reduction of the tree-like branching of dendrites emanating from the cell body, suggesting that EHBP1 plays a role in dendritic arbor development. See the article by Yuanyuan Ji et al. for more details on this newly identified role for EHBP1 and for insight into its mechanism of action. Cover image: Yuanyuan Ji.
