  • Shown are parameters (mean ± SEM) of bicuculline-induced bursts compared with those of spontaneous bursts recorded on the same STN neurons during SWS (n = 17) (A) and parameters of gabazine-induced bursts compared with those of spontaneous bursts recorded on the same STN neurons during SWS (n = 6) (B). To ponder the variable numbers of bursts observed on each neuron, because of different recording durations between different neurons, mean values were first computed for each neuron and then averaged over all neurons in each condition. Frequency of bursts occurrence relates to the inverse of the mean interval between bursts onsets. Control and drug values were compared with the Student'st test for paired data.
