Values are the means ± SEM for the number of mice indicated in parentheses. ND, Not determined. Data were analyzed by means of two-way ANOVA (age by genotype) with post hoc t tests. There were no statistically significant interactions. Testes weight showed a statistically significant main effect of genotype: F(1,22) = 19.27; p = 0.0002. Arterial plasma leucine concentration showed a statistically significant main effect of age: F(1,22) = 5.81; p = 0.0247.
↵* Statistically significantly different from age-matched WT;p < 0.05; t test.
↵ a Measured in a separate series of five WT and five Fmr1 null mice 15 min after the initiation of sampling of arterial blood.
