  • Psmc1fl/wt (control) and Psmc1fl/ko (mutant) MEFs were transduced on day 0 with adenoviral Cre recombinase (multiplicity of infection, ∼850; Vector Laboratories), and mRNA analysis was performed by real-time RT-PCR over 4 d. Representative proteasomal subunits are α7 and chymotryptic β5 of the 20S core complex, and SUG1/p45 ATPase and POH1 from the base and lid of the 19S regulatory particle, respectively. Atg7, Atg8, and Bcl2 represent changes in macroautophagy and apoptotic mechanisms, respectively. Gene expression was normalized to GAPDH and expressed as a fold change compared with the controls. —, No expression; ND, not done.
