    Axon regeneration is enhanced with recovery of the intrinsic growth state 1–2 weeks after conditioning injury. An age-dependent decline in the velocity of SCb is comparable to the decrease of regeneration rate [20–22]. Axonal sprouting in peripheral regeneration is similar to that of the embryonic axons, which elongates at the same rate of several millimeters per day.
