Effect of motor learning with different complexities on EEG spectral distribution and performance improvement
2021, Biomedical Signal Processing and ControlCitation Excerpt :Unlike for the gamma band, the results from the current study in relation to the power of beta band showed a decrement in the complex task particularly in channels located over the frontal lobe. Numerous previous studies have reported an increment in beta power for more complex tasks particularly for channels located in the frontal regions [35–39]. However, results from the current study show a reduction in the beta power for the complex task.

2008, Clinical NeurophysiologyCitation Excerpt :The high automation avoids learning effects that could confound the results and minimizes the need for visual feedback. Signing has been used as movement paradigm in at least one fMRI (Hamzei et al., 2002) and several neurophysiological studies (Schreiber et al., 1983; Nashmi et al., 1994), usually in comparison to other less automated movements. The study by Nashmi et al. found no relevant 30–50 Hz peri-movement activity increases during signing, as opposed to other movement paradigms requiring more attention.
