However, the extent of decrease is lessened by half upon choosing either 200 or 400 pulses, or upon shifting the frequency of simultaneous parallel fiber and climbing fiber stimulations to either 0.75 or 1.2 Hz (Karachot et al., 1994). Furthermore, picrotoxin was added to the perfusate to block postsynaptic inhibition, which otherwise interferes with LTD induction (Ekerot and Kano, 1985).
