Erratum

Erratum: Chen et al., “Sortilin Controls Intracellular Sorting of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor to the Regulated Secretory Pathway”

Journal of Neuroscience 3 September 2025, 45 (36) e1523252025; https://doi.org/10.1523/JNEUROSCI.1523-25.2025

In the article “Sortilin Controls Intracellular Sorting of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor to the Regulated Secretory Pathway,” by Zhe-Yu Chen, Alessandro Ieraci, Henry Teng, Henning Dall, Chui-Xiang Meng, Daniel G. Herrera, Anders Nykjaer, Barbara L. Hempstead, and Francis S. Lee, which was published on pages 6156–6166 of the June 29, 2005, issue, there was an error in the figure citations in the “Discussion” section. In the second paragraph of the “Discussion,” the second sentence should read “First, we have mapped a region in the BDNF pro domain (amino acids 44–102) that is responsible for interaction with the luminal domain of sortilin and demonstrated endogenous interaction of the two molecules in brain lysates (Fig. 1A) as well as localization in the same secretory granule compartment in neurons (Fig. 4B).”

In the second paragraph of the Discussion section, the sixth sentence should read as follows: “Deletion of Box 3 in BDNF does not alter expression levels of BDNF protein (Fig. 2B) but does significantly reduce its regulated secretion (Fig. 6B).” The authors apologize for these errors. These errors do not affect the conclusions of the paper.
